The October meeting was attended by 35 people from the Coalition and other people from around the State.  A survey by RI Housing was presented by Bob Marshall of Marshall Associates.

We were each given a card a card with the question:

How satisfied were we with our present housing situation?

The cards were collected and each was asked to give their answer(s).  These were to be turned in to those collecting the results to go with the application for grants to address problems.

In the second part, we were given a sheet of paper with 9 statements and one blank space.  We were told that we had $10 to distribute to these statements and the blank space, if we filled it in.  The results were tallied and the top vote  was “not knowing where to get the necessary information”. Again, these results are to be submitted also.

Even though it might have sounded like a boring subject, there were many lively discussions generated.

We also had a short presentation by Denice Corson from ATEL highlighting the availability of a low-cost internet hot spot for those with disabilities. The equipment cost is $100 and $15 a month thereafter. This is just being made available.
