The C.D.C. held its regularly scheduled meeting on June 3, 2019 at the Warwick Public Library.  It was attended by 22 people.

Our topic this month was Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships.  We thought this very appropriate since Summer is around the corner and we all will probably meet new people and shoule be aware of what is and is not a healthy relationship.

The program, one of the Speakers Bureau offerings, was presented by Deanne Gagne and Tanja Blicker-Ucran.  We compared healthy and unhealthy relationships with food that is good for you and food that isn’t.  We said that healthy relationships includes trust, choice and respect and we gave examples of each.  We then went on to show what makes a unhealthy relationship with unhealthy examples.

We then went on to an exercise called “red flags”. A sentence was read and we had to determine if it was a red flag or not by raising red flags we were given to use. We then went on to “red flag scenarios” where similar examples were given and we had to raise a flag is it could be possible danger.

We ended the program reminding everyone to keep these things in mind.

THERE WILL BE NO meeting in July or August.  The next meeting is September 9,2019. Have a Happy Summer!
